You will be picked up from your hotel in Can Tho and taken to the cruise. Here you will meet the private crew of your sampan boat, who will take good care of you for the next two days.
Here is a brief description of your private two day Mekong River cruise by Sampan boat.
Day 1: Introduction to River Life & Culture
Once you are settled and relaxed on the boat, the captain will start your journey through the Mekong. Gliding past local villages, rice fields and wonderful landscapes while enjoying refreshing drinks and fruit.
First stop on your cruise will be to visit a local family who live by the river. This local family run a quaint little Tofu skin making workshop. Next on your route you will visit the famous Cao Dai temple, a very colourful historic building in the heart of the Mekong.
Finally on day one, you will visit a local riverside clay pot factory before heading back to the boat for a delightful dinner, prepared by your private staff.
Day 2: Floating Markets & Ancient Crafts
After a comfortable sleep in your private cabin onboard your Mekong river boat. Awakening to the sounds of gentle water lapping against the boat is a unique experience. Enjoy a freshly made breakfast by your private staff and await the adventures of day two.
On the agenda today first is to see the locals weave handbags and hammocks, visit the local heritage house Dong Hoa Hiep, surrounded by lush orchards and intricate wood carvings. Visit a traditional workshop which makes puffed rice & coconut candy and finishing off with a traditional colonial style lunch at the Longanier Restaurant in Cai Be.
