Public Holidays in Vietnam

Vietnam have holidays throughout the year like most countries in the world, but nothing is quite so special as TET. TET is the lunar New Year, similarly called Chinese New Year in China.

TET holidays are usually held in the latter days of January and early days of February, depending on the lunar calendar.

Vietnamese people will travel far and wide to visit their folks back home in the villages up and down the country for TET holiday.

If you are planning on visiting Vietnam during TET you will need to book in plenty of time and expect slower & more expensive services along with possible closures of restaurants and landmark sites.

Another important holiday in Vietnam is Independence day, celebrated on 1st September to mark the reunification of Vietnam.
