Day 1: Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City - Military Jeep City Tour

Welcome to Ho Chi Minh City and the start of your South Vietnam Highlights tour with Travel Agent Hanoi. Arriving at Ho Chi Minh City airport, you will be collected by our private driver and transferred to the your hotel in District 1 to check in. You will then have time to either relax or check out the local area such as Ben Thanh market for a bargain or two.

In the afternoon, you will set off on a journey by travelling through the bustling streets of the city on a Jeep commonly used by the US military during the past War to visit significant attractions such as Notre Dame Cathedral, City Post Office, Independence Palace and War Remnants Museum. Before returning to your hotel after a 4 hour introduction to HCMC.

The evening is to yourselves to enjoy the hustle and bustle of this cosmopolitan City.

Day 2: Cu Chi Tunnels by speedboat - Dinner Cruise

Travel to Cu Chi as a VIP on one of our modern speedboats arriving hours before the large tour groups.  Your English-speaking guide will explain the life along the banks of the Saigon River as your boat gracefully winds its way through the water ways.

After the scenic one-hour boat trip our guide will take you through the historic Cu Chi Tunnels explaining the history behind it all.

Arriving back at around 1.30pm, you now have free time to explore Ho Chi Minh City by yourselves.

Then, at 6pm you will be collected by your private driver and taken to the port where you will spend a luxurious evening on board the Saigon Princess cruise for a fine dining experience sailing along the Saigon River. With a 5 course menu of delightful dishes and a superb atmosphere, this will certainly be a Saigon River cruise to remember.

After the cruise around 9.15pm, your private car will be waiting to take you back to the hotel.

Day 3: My Tho & Can Tho - Mekong Delta

Your guide will collect you for your adventure in to the Mekong. Once arriving in My Tho you will take a boat ride along the river, viewing the stilt houses and fruit plantations along the river bank. Proceeding to Tortoise island to have lunch by the orchard. Enjoy a boat ride through Tan Thach natural canal in Ben Tre, cruising under the water coconut trees. Heading to Can Tho where you will take a rowing boat ride among the creeks before heading to the Hotel or Homestay for the evening.

Day 4: Floating Markets of Mekong Delta

Take an early morning adventure to the winding canals of the Mekong river and a visit to a working floating market. The scenes are bustling with market traders buying and selling their fruit & vegetables on their boats. Smaller boats winding in and out of the boats selling their home cooked meals for the traders, maybe grab a bowl of delicious soup cooked there on the river.

Cruising through the canal system to then take a bicycle ride through the villages and fruit plantations, passing by happy smiling children's faces, hoping for a high five or two for the passers by. After lunch you will then make your way back to Ho Chi Minh CIty for your evenings entertainment in the cosmopolitan city.

Day 5: Depart Ho Chi Minh City

Depending when your flight departs, you can have breakfast and free time till our private driver transfers you to the airport for your awaiting flight home.

Q4. What do I need to bring?
A4. Please check the weather for the time of year you arrive, or ask us on booking, we can advise on what you will need. But usually hat, sun cream, insect repellent are advisable necessities. You can buy cheap throwaway raincoats if it gets wet.
Q5. Will I need insurance?
A5. Yes, we always advise our customers to take out a comprehensive insurance policy before they travel.
